Job Overview Qualcomm Israels R&D centers in Haifa serve as hubs of semiconductor innovation in the vibrant Israeli high-tech industry. The center in Haifa, established in 1994, is located near the Technion, Israels leading institute of technology. For more than 20 years, the Haifa centers engineers and scientists have continued to develop technology breakthroughs in various areas that enable Qualcomm to deliver value to the Companys collaborations with device manufacturers and developers.

Candidate will perform design and analysis of complex mm-wave antenna arrays designs built into IC packages and multichip modules for mobile solutions. The candidate will engage with IC designers, package and substrate design engineers and RF system engineers to find and optimize design solutions, provide recommendations for high-performance cost-effective RF module development. The work responsibilities range from evaluating single antenna element design concepts to full antenna array platform integration design, using electromagnetic field solvers to analyze wave propagation, and performing full characterization via lab measurements. The job will expose the candidate to the product development of cutting edge IC packages and RF modules which are super integrated, in the world leader of the expanding 60 GHz wireless standard.

Minimum Qualifications Hands-on experience using quasi-static and full wave EM field solvers (such as HFSS, CST) to simulate antenna elements.

Capable of programing in script environment such Matlab and Tcl.

Fundamental knowledge of antenna and propagation theories, and of microwave theories.

Competency in the multi-tasking and meeting tight project schedules.

Capability of doing concise and pragmatic feasibility researches, and keeping track of latest technological developments.

Out-of-the box thinking, resourceful, creative.

Ability to do intensive team work collaboration.

Advantage:

Expertise in the measurement of antennas in an anechoic chamber, familiarity with test equipment such as VNA, power-meter, micro-probes and probe landing, different calibration methods such as SOLT, LRRM and TRL/LRL, and lab automation.

Working knowledge of IC package technologies (SiP, PoP, QFN/LGA, CSP and WLP), packaging materials (organic, LTCC, LCP).

Understanding of RF systems for digital communication.

Preferred Qualifications Minimal Experience and Education Requirements:

EE BSc+2 years of proven relevant experience, or MSc in a relevant field

Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
