Global Risk and Data Sciences (GRDS) is the largest group in PayPal’s Risk Management organization. It is the R&D group for all of Risk’s teams and the center of excellence across PayPal for working with Big-Data. The group is centrally located in Tel-Aviv with teams in Shanghai and San Jose, California.
We are looking for outstanding technological team leader to join us. If you love leading and growing people and products, are passionate about technology and architecture, love hands-on development and think out of the box – your place is with us.
In your role as a team manager, you will:
Lead a team of 5+ software engineers, hire, coach and grow them
Act as a technical authority, project and people leader
Contribute to the design and development of high-end, architecturally complex system
Evaluate and lead technology and architecture of large scale Big Data and real time systems
Work closely with other technological peers and partners, data scientists and their leaders,
Lead analytical projects from inception through research , development and all the way to production on PayPal’s data processing infrastructure
Hands on development of key components of the infrastructure
B.Sc. in computer sciences/ mathematics or equivalent or IDF technological unit technology experience
At least 2 years experience as team leader of at least 3 engineers
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment and across the globe
Experience in hiring and coaching engineers, teams and products
At least 4 years experience in large scale, production grade, server side development
A passion for architecture and for developing robust, scalable software systems
Experience working with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Java, Scala – advantage
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
A passion for problem-solving, flexibility, comfort with ambiguity, and creativity
Experience in working in a global environment - advantage
