We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer with deep experience and expertise designing and delivering commercially-competitive software using modern software engineering practices and cloud technologies. In this role, you will deliver the most cutting-edge applications and solutions in partnership with high-impact customers, partners and startups. You’ll be contributing to key OSS and engage with developer communities.

As a Software Engineer within the CSE team your constant thirst to learn and grow and take risks will make you successful. Above all you’ll need to be inspired, and inspire others, by the stories you create through code & data.

The role is based at a Microsoft Israel R&D Center and will include some travelling to events and to work with companies & communities across Europe, US and SA. We embrace flexible working as a core principle and you’ll be welcome to work from home or your favorit coffee shop 1-2 days a week.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing and deploying highly visible, scalable, reliable, commercially available solutions using Microsoft & OSS technology based solutions, working with top companies in the industry.

  • Driving early platform and technology adoption wins with customers and partners through deep ‘code-with’ engagements.

  • Demonstrating technical subject matter expertise to scope projects, architect design solutions, and resolve issues

  • Documenting and sharing the technical detail of coding engagements with technical audiences and Engineering teams

  • Working within data, OSS & other communities to build relationships and talk publicly about our projects and enaggements

  • Driving high level of impact on Microsoft product teams to influence the future product roadmap

Key Technical Skills:

  • Passion for technology, solving complex problems and continuous learning

  • Broad and Practical experience in cloud solution architecture and hands-on software development experience with solid engineering best practices

  • Technical depth and hands-on experience in one/few emerging technologies (For example: Containers serverless, deep learning, high scale data pipelines, blockchain, IoT, microservices, etc.)

  • Ability to serve as technical lead on complex projects – this will require accountability of architecture and best engineering practices in the projects.

  • Decision-making skills, conflict resolution, and follow through.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with high impact results

  • Ability to creatively communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to people with or without a technical background.

  • An established technical profile (e.g., social networks, blogging, GitHub, OSS contribution, published author, conference speaker, community organizer)

  • Existing relationships with developer communities / VCs / startups / enterprises and a deep understanding of how to interact with these audiences.

  • Great communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
