The Medical Advisor is responsible for the overall planning, management and performance of the medical affairs related issues according to the needs of the Business Unit (BU) he / she is assigned to.
Primary Responsibilities Providing input for setting strategies and objectives related with support to brand plan & activities, relationship with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Advisory Board activities and management of department activities in compliance with these strategies and objectives.
Ensuring that strategies and objectives are in line with Pfizer strategies and objectives.
Planning, tracking, controlling and coordinating the activities accomplished / supported / sponsored by him/her.
Establishing effective communication mechanisms with other departments/ units.
Maintaining a close liaison with regional medical personnel in order to understand the international product strategy and to test compatibility with proposed local research interests, representing local interests and needs in order to achieve endorsement and sometimes budget contributions to subsequent Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) grants and other medical activities.
Ensuring that the conduct of the strategies and tactics comply with Pfizer policy and procedures, MoH regulations and other local laws.
Providing medical support to marketing colleagues in development of product brand plans.
Working in coordination with the relevant marketing colleague in order to determine strengths and weaknesses of the products and relevant opportunities and threats in the market.
Contribution to product strategy development by providing clinical and scientific interpretation of the needs of the local medical community for the development of product positioning and marketing and sales initiatives.
To acquire and distribute up-date and maintain product knowledge, disease area expertise and clinical data on competitor products in order to provide medical input to the product strategy development, interpreting product features for commercial optimization.
Assisting in the decision process for product positioning and goal setting among the other products in the relevant therapeutic class.
To interpret clinical studies experience and data, feeding back to marketing and sales colleagues the implication for the shaping of the product strategy and sales massages; leveraging contact with investigators, facilitating a close relationship with all internal stakeholders.
Review of promotional materials and detail aids in accordance with MoH guidelines, Pfizer procedures and WIs and scientific literature.
Providing medical support to marketing activities in compliance with overall
Strategy in alignment with the relevant BUs.
Execution of programs involving medical issues.
Determining in which congresses, symposia, etc. to participate, in coordination with related marketing personnel.
Developing and maintaining relations with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to create advocates for the products.
Ongoing F2F visits to KOLs, including stakeholders in the sick funds and presentations to medical departments per need.
Determination of KOLs utilizing various resources, such as congresses, publications, and medical associations in corporation with the BU.
Managing the relations with potential and existing KOLs, especially during congresses, visits, etc.
Manage and follow up physicians' requests.
Participating in preparation for new product launch.
Planning with the BU the Advisory Board Meetings (objective, agenda, participants, etc.). Selecting the relevant KOLs and inviting them to the meetings.
Ensuring together with the marketing colleagues that the meetings are executed as planned.
Providing feedback about the outcome of the meetings.
Planning various medical activities related to launch, such as speaker training, IIRs, education programs and etc.
Providing medical support for the planning and implementation of Clinical programs (IIR).
Coordinating and following up the IIR process.
Providing input relative to specific products for the construction of long term operating plan, from data gathered from marketing and sales colleagues, investigator interests and global corporate initiatives, evaluating the scientific implications, the commercial returns, the practical aspects and the longer- term product strategy. Provide a business case and scientific rationale for each study proposed, derived from the product strategy.
Training of Professional Sales Representatives (PSRs).
- Ensuring that internal training programs contain messages, which are medically and ethically accurate, appropriate and relevant for the Israeli market application. To actively train PSRs on all medical aspects of products and related diseases.
Oversight of Medical Information related processes
- Ensuring that customer inquiries are responded to effectively and that relevant information about the inquiries is recorded in accordance to REG08.
Contribution to the medical department team by collaborating in projects,
Initiatives and by the proactive sharing of information.
Providing medical support for the registration process.
Conducting literature search on respective products on an ongoing basis.
Participation in the preparation of submission to health basket .
Back up to other Medical Advisors, as necessary.
Education and Experience
Life science degree (pharmacist, Vet, PhD) or MD.
Fluent in Hebrew and English (written and spoken)
Dynamic personality with drive and enthusiasm
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Strong organizational skills, solution-oriented and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency.

Good management skills
